Senior Consultant, Enterprise Architect

Responsible for advising clients in developing and implementing enterprise architectures, re-engineering enterprise-wide processes and developing the appropriate governance structures. Provides expertise in the areas of business process, information and system design and project management. A keen focus of the role will be performing strategic level planning and analysis and integrated governance advisory. This role will provide domain expertise for a wide variety of business matters and should be capable of devising approaches to solving specific and generic federal IT challenges. Expected to develop and independently deliver frequent presentations to clients and executives. Able to develop, facilitate, or lead business requirements capture and research. Able to provide strategic guidance to clients at all levels and interact with a variety of stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Leverage a broad range of IT management and project management experiences to specify compliant federal enterprise architectures and provide a wide-range of IT management solutions to clients
  • Provide expert advice regarding Federal IT programs (e.g., guidance, regulations, compliance, integration, etc.)
  • A command of various EA frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Common Approach to Federal EA, FEAF, DoDAF, TEAF etc.)
  • Experience performing architecture modeling
  • Demonstrate strong IT governance experience and ability to appropriately specify and tailor solutions as appropriate.  Able to integrate across IT management domain areas and propose comprehensive solutions that the various elements together (e.g., information security, knowledge management, IT portfolio management, enterprise architecture)
  • Define innovative and creative solutions while demonstrating strategic focus
  • Possess strong communication skills (e.g., oral, written – to include documents and presentations, process maps etc.)
  • Lead stakeholders through scenarios to identify and validate courses of action
  • Prepare for and facilitate client meetings as needed or required
  • Demonstrate strong program management experience with previous engagement management experience
Required Skills:
  • Ability to work in the United States and work in a U.S. government facility
  • BS or BA from an accredited four year college or university in IT Management or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience with a deep understanding of enterprise architectures (from a business and process perspective)
  • IT architecture modeling experience using current modeling applications
  • Experience advising and partnering with federal CIOs
  • Exemplary communication skills both written and oral (to include senior and executive level communication)
  • Able to collaborate and persuade as needed to ensure progress and delivery
  • Critical and strategic thinking (e.g., able to leverage and shape industry best-practices to realistic applications within and consistent with client operational environments)
  • Able to work productively in a team environment or individually
  • Experience providing advisory consultation to clients and stakeholders in a federal environment
  • Well versed in current federal EA strategic direction stemming from OMB
  • Ability to elicit business, functional, technical requirements
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CEA, ITIL, Certified IT Architect etc.)
Desired Skills:
  • PMP certification 
  • Command knowledge of prevailing federal regulations pertaining to EA and IT governance operations
  • Good graphics building abilities
  • Ability to perform complex tasks methodically and with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Diverse IT experience (e.g., software development, hardware, networking and communications) 
  • Experience advising and supporting commercial CIOs
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Experienced developing and delivering EA related training
